Sweat Success Story: Megan N.

I originally came to Liven Up Health and Fitness because I needed to switch up my workouts and learn new ways to challenge myself. My neighbor had great success here and I saw an opportunity to join for a 21 day challenge in January, so I figured I’d try it.

Prior to coming to Liven Up, I was working out at a regular gym, doing my own routine. I would run on the treadmill and lift some weights. Although I was working out regularly, I was doing the same thing over and over – not challenging myself. I would also stick to the same weight routine, not really knowing how to switch it up or different things to do. In the back of my mind, I knew I couldn’t expect different results without a different routine.

The results I was hoping for from Liven Up were simple. I wanted to learn some new exercises, and kickstart my weight loss. That’s all I wanted. I figured I would sign up for everything I could at my normal gym time of 5 am for the 21 days.  I wasn’t expecting the experience I had, or the results I achieved. Since starting with Liven Up mid-January, I have lost a significant amount of body fat, while increasing my muscle mass.  My energy levels have increased. My bloodwork has improved. I am able to do push-ups now (but still working on increasing them!). I am sore from my workouts, but I enjoy that, I like the reminder that I challenged myself!

It’s hard to describe what I like most about Liven Up, as it’s really the entire experience. I enjoy my 5 am coaches Kira, Andi, John, Jim, and Emily – how they motivate and challenge me. They know me (and everyone else) so they know when they can give me 5 more pounds and the confidence to lift it! Colleen and Christy and their amazing coverage and knowledge of the desk & scheduling in the am!  And of course, my new friends who sweat with me and inspire me daily.  I love that if I’m struggling, one of them is next to me encouraging me to keep going.  I can look around the room in the morning and be inspired by the effort, determination, positivity, and energy in every individual.  I know I’m not alone and I know I’m supported and challenged here in my effort and goals.
